Did you know?

-> In 2022, the recycling industry generated revenues of approximately €105 billion and provided jobs for around 315,000 people.

-> The volume of waste in 2022 (399.1 million tonnes) decreased again after the latest peak in 2018.

-> Nearly 82% of waste generated in Germany was re-used — 70% for materials and 12% for energy.

At the end of 2024, the German Federal Government adopted the National Circular Economy Strategy (NKWS) with the goal of reducing the overall consumption of primary raw materials in Germany, closing material cycles, and preserving the value of raw materials and products for as long as possible.
