📢 A Raw Materials Agency for Europe? – New Study by the Foundation Work and Environment of IG BCE
The globally growing demand for raw materials to manage the energy transition is intensifying the competition for critical resources. A new study by the Foundation Work and Environment of the Industrial Union of Mining, Chemistry, and Energy (IG BCE) discusses the establishment and design of an EU Raw Materials Agency to implement a reliable raw materials management system.
In the future, the agency could play a key role in:
✔️ Gathering and providing relevant data 📊
✔️ Coordinating and participating in raw material partnerships 🤝
✔️ Monitoring and supporting strategic mining projects ⛏️
✔️ Developing important ESG criteria and certification systems for critical raw materials ✅ and
✔️ Promoting the circular economy ♻️
Since 2019, the Foundation Work and Environment of IG BCE has been part of the D-EITI as a member of the Multi Stakeholder Gruppe – D-EITI
